The theme is Warmth, says my informal WordPress photography assignment for the day. Someone has a sense of humor, since the forecast is for the first dusting of mid-autumn snow. I reach for this shot, taken on a July walk through my neighborhood as a storm gathered, The heat was about to break at the end of a hot, hot day.

As with the photo in yesterday’s post, this one was caught by chance. It’s a cluttered picture, and if I had it to do over again, I’d get rid of the backlit trees. I used them as a frame, to give a sense of scale, but the result was not satisfactory. Those colors in the clouds were and are the star of the show.
