Thanksgiving on the trails

I’m grateful to people and private businesses that keep their land open.

I’m grateful for trail volunteers, whose work is evident everywhere I go. I pitch in when I can – which is too seldom.

To the townspeople who care enough to maintain parks and open space, thanks.

State and national parks, rail trails short and long, fire towers and the trails leading to them: all cause for thanksgiving.

I’m thankful to the hikers who take the time to create and publish trail guides.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
